2022 will be our 5th year offering the 5k distance.  It all began with this 5k, and we will continue to offer it for those interested in being competitive at a shorter distance as well as those looking to hike the course.

The 5k takes place primarily on the Historic Brule Portage Trail which has was first used as a connecting route between the St. Croix River and the Brule River by Native Americans.  Early voyageurs also used the trail for the same purposes.  Along the trail are memorial stones for some of the explorers who traveled this trail, dating back to the 1600's.

All race distances start and finish at Palmer's Landing. The 5k course is an out and back route, which does contain a short spur (50 yards) off of the North Country Trail in order to facilitate the turnaround aid station.
